Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected when someone uses Polk County Court Docket, why it is processed, and when another organization may receive it. By continuing to use this private reference site, you agree to the practices stated here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name, cause number, or other term entered into a search tool is sent to the independent provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Polk County Court Docket does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If you email us, we retain the message as needed to answer it. We keep it within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, servers may receive ordinary technical and usage information:

  • The visiting device's IP address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device class and operating system
  • Viewed pages and time spent on them
  • A referring website, when supplied
  • The time of each request

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files used to understand site traffic, popular pages, and common exit points. Analytics providers help combine that activity into usage reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

Collected data may be used for these operational purposes:

  • Maintaining site availability, speed, and security
  • Sending a submitted search to the selected partner
  • Understanding which reference pages visitors use
  • Finding and correcting technical problems
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Court-Record Data on File

Polk County Court Docket does not host, sell, compile, or maintain a database of Polk County dockets or personal case records. It publishes directions to the District Clerk, County Clerk, trial courts, municipal and JP offices, and re:SearchTX. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or profiles about other people.

Third-Party Search Partners

Independent companies operate the search boxes found on some content pages. A query submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention practices, and sharing rules. We do not set those terms. Review the provider's policy before entering information.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Polk County clerk pages, Texas court systems, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read it before disclosing personal data.

Advertising partners may use their own technology to follow activity across websites and select ads. Any such cross-site tracking occurs through their systems rather than ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be disclosed to:

  • Providers that process a search you choose to submit
  • Analytics vendors measuring site use and performance
  • Advertising networks placing ads on the site
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information we control. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed secure, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor provided such data, we will delete it promptly.

Your Data Rights

Applicable Texas and federal privacy or consumer-protection law may provide rights that depend on residence and circumstances. The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Business and Commerce Code Chapter 541, may apply to qualifying processing. Subject to governing law, you may:

  • Request access to personal data held about you
  • Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
  • Request deletion of eligible information
  • Opt out of certain processing where a legal right exists

The Texas Public Information Act governs many government records. It does not turn this privately operated site into the custodian of Polk County court files, and judicial records follow the separate Texas court-access framework.

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this privacy policy. A revised version becomes available here with an updated effective date, which identifies the policy then in force.

Effective date: September 7, 2026
